A Guide to Choosing Great Alcohol Substitutes at Craftzero
Suppose you're looking to cut back on alcohol and still enjoy the flavour of your favourite alcoholic beverages. In that case, Craftzero has a wide selection of fantastic alcohol substitutes that can fill the need.

Ever since the first non-alcohol bar opened its doors in Melbourne, I've been intrigued by the advances in the growing alcohol-free beverage market.
My early memories of choosing good alcohol-free alternatives to wine were overly sweet grape juice that lacked any depth of flavour and felt nothing like drinking a glass of wine.
But it's come such a long way from those days.
Non-alcohol substitutes have become a popular trend because people want to avoid the risks associated with substances like alcohol while still enjoying the flavours of these popular beverages.
We're right here with you, so below, we've gathered some great non-alcohol beverages available online at Craftzero. Craftzero is an Australian business founded in NSW by brother-in-laws looking to offer more choices for people who what to drink less alcohol, while still being social without peer pressure or judgement.

Beer
Non-alcohol beer is a hot trend right now, and there are many different ways it's made. Non-alcohol beer starts as regular beer and then goes through de-alcoholisation. Advances in technology have made this process effective at creating a non-alcohol version of the beer that tastes great and now comes in many different varieties.
Craft zero has dozens of non-alcohol beer varieties from IPA, Stout, and Vegan options to everything in-between. So it depends on your tastes as to which you choose, but great to see so many options available.
There are variety of mixed beer packs available to taste a few and see what you prefer. Pricing for non-alcohol beers is comparable, if not cheaper, with less tax for these non-alcohol varieties. A bonus!
Wine
Non-alcohol wine is made from grape juice and undergoes a small amount of fermentation, leaving a flavour similar to wine (not so much like grape juice) with zero alcohol.
As an enjoyer of wine and living in a wine region, I've found finding a variety of non-alcohol or de-alcoholised wines that I enjoy challenging. In saying that, the selection at supermarkets and liquor stores is often limited.
The selection of non-alcohol wines at Craftzero is good, from sparkling, rose, whites and reds. Many of the wines have many reviews to get a sense of whether that variety is for you!
Spirits
During Covid lockdown, my husband's work sent employees a gift box of four non-alcohol cocktails with recipes to mix them up. There was quite the science to it, and I was impressed by their flavour. It was complex and tasted like a real cocktail, not a mocktail where you feel shortchanged a little.
Non-alcohol spirits are made by maceration, where botanicals and other ingredients are soaked in a liquid and let sit. Non-alcohol whiskey, gin, tequila! The list goes on! Add it with a mixer or whip up a cocktail. It's great to see more choice and variety in this category.
Cider
Non-alcohol cider is made much like beer, where the full-strength cider is created, then alcohol is later removed from the final product. Craftzero says that non-alcohol cider's taste is so similar to its alcoholic version that you'll unlikely know the difference.
